Mountaineering
An alumnus of the best mountain craft schools on the sub-continent. He exposed himself to the complete Himalayan Arc, from Ladakh and Kashmir in the North-West, dropping South-East to Himachal and Garhwal, further following the belt into Nepal and Bhutan, advancing East back in Sikkim, India and touching tips in Arunachal. He was instituted into Expedition style of climbing, inspired by the early British explorations in the Himalayas; he cultured himself into the idea of Alpinism, a technically and culturally more evolved European style of climbing. Over the years he has attempted some Big Mountain Expeditions in the Himalayas. He's trained in executing Mountain Rescue Operations, Specialising in appreciating Weather Systems, Navigation, and Assessing and Responding to High Altitude hazards in the Himalayan Wilderness.
Snowboarding
Snowboarding as an idea was born in Michigan, the first board was carved out of love by a grandfather for his grandchildren to spend time outside in the winter; Boarding grew as a radical and disruptive force against Skiing which was an elite winter getaway. He chose Snowboarding, as it connects the body to all boarding sports; he's been cultured into All Mountain, Free Riding on the slopes of Apharwat, Kashmir, India. Now practising, Big Mountain Snow Boarding in the Great Himalayan Backcountry.
Aviation
Younglings look up to avians in awe, dreams of flying have always ignited a chaotic spark of curiosity in the soul of homo sapiens, with a redefined idea of freedom both metaphorically and literally. Naturally keen about aviation, He learnt to pilot a single-winged frameless aircraft called the Paraglider, which now can be spotted airborne 4000 m AMSL in an XC flight over the Dhauladhar's gaining flying hours.
Caving
Introduced to caving in childhood, which suffered a teenage lag; while motorcycling the eastern states of the sub-continent, on a flying tour; some time was spent studying cave systems of the Khasi Hills and brushing over Geology readings, entered some great spaces beneath the Earth in the East Khasi Hills including the Krem Puri cave system (the largest sandstone cave system in the world).
Diving
All this while, as he puts it, "A true taste of adventure was maturing" and a yearning to enter the underworld was swelling, off the mainland, amidst the Indian Ocean learnt about open and confined water diving using a breathing apparatus, in the Andaman's.
Sundry
Trail Running in mountains. When in cities He cherishes Non-competitive long-distance runs, cycling, and Driving on Highways. A Golf and Rifle Shooting enthusiast.
